Ernestina is the Founder and Educationalist at Uplift Learning Inc. A passionate educator and mental health advocate, she’s been on a 20-year mission to explore the role of education in mental and emotional health. Her experiences and MA research into trauma have led her to recognize the challenges faced by people trying to access appropriate, trauma-informed services.
The absence of trauma-informed practice in mental health and wellness takes a profound toll on health and wellness providers as well as their clients. As a result of her experiences, Ernestina developed an online educational practice to assist educators, coaches, health, wellness and mental health professionals develop their own online programs, integrate trauma-informed practices into their own offerings and help them address emerging practice issues.
She has worked with a diverse variety of clients, developing and optimizing training for in-person, e-learning and blended delivery including complex topics such as trauma-informed practice, cultural competency, minimally invasive surgery, nursing, human rights and Indigenous culture.
This work represents Ernestina’s passion to simultaneously destigmatize mental and emotional health and increase compassion for everyone who is affected. Supporting professionals in expanding access to services while staying healthy creates the possibility of more mental and emotional health for everyone.
